Read Time: 2 Minutes

I knew I had to get this, one because I’m a fan of the Bobiverse books, and two because it’s a short story on time travel paradoxes, which I also love. Being free as part of my Audible subscription also helped since I didn’t have to cough up a credit! So this is a standalone sci-fi short (32 minutes total runtime) that doesn’t mess about. It gets in, gets the story told, and gets out.

The story centers on a couple of scientists who have discovered time travel. They have a device they can send into the past, but no earlier than when the device was created. When a paradox is accidentally created by turning the device off after it arrived from the future but before it had left, so begins the twists and mind-bending turns of the plot.

Everything they do seems to make things worse.

It’s one I’m going to have to listen to again, because some of the changes in the time stream were so subtle that I didn’t notice at first. I want to go back and give it another listen and see if I can spot the moments the second time around.

Ray Porter is, of course, excellent as the narrator. One of the most popular narrators out there (for good reason) yet I have only a handful of audiobooks narrated by him. I really should look some more up.

Anyway, I need to keep this review short and sweet because anything else might be spoilers for such a short story. I enjoyed it and will be listening again. Well executed both production and story, and perfect if you don’t have a lot of time (ha!) and need something satisfying.
