Starts Off Good.... Ends Weak

Review by: The Audiobook ReviewThis one has been popping up in my suggested "to reads" for as long as I can remember, so I finally gave in and tried it out. Mark Manson, a self-help guru who likes to say "fuck" a lot (shocker, based on the title) seemingly screams through life at his own pace, without "fucks to give" about things that don't matter to him.

I did enjoy this book but the further on it went, the weaker I think it got... until ending on a weird anecdote about contemplating suicide or something. To be honest, by then I was putting much of the book's suggestions to good use and thus had "no fucks to give" about this part. Maybe that was the whole point?

I think the main lesson which basically boils down to "only give your fucks to things that deserve them" - ie only really care about things that matter to you, because if it doesn't really matter why let it bother you - is probably something I could have stood to learn decades ago, and I could have saved myself a fair bunch of grief and stress.

The narration was top notch. Roger Wayne did a fine job and the quality was spot on what you'd expect. I think he did a good job, nailing the beats and the timing to deliver the points of the book as intended.
