Interesting Collection of Stories

Review by: The Audiobook ReviewThis was certainly interesting. David Niall Wilson has put together a diverse set of stories, some mind-bending, one a twist on the last days of Jesus and Judas, and others just strange yet compelling to listen to.

The opening story is probably the most out there, almost like a story told of a particularly nasty drug trip. The second story of the lot was probably my favourite of them though as it appealed to me because I enjoyed "Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal" so much.

A vampiric spin on the life of Jesus, but possibly not in the way you might think. It felt the longest of all the included stories, but that may have been because I enjoyed it so much and really paid attention to it. My mind did wander a little during the others as they didn't capture my attention as much.

The narration by Michael J Fischbein was painfully slow. After less than a minute I had to speed up the playback to 1.5x just for it to sound normal. It came across as almost abnormally slow. Once I had set the narration to a pace I could enjoy, I found him pleasant enough to listen to.

I doubt I'll add this into my "listen to again" pile, but it was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. I have not let this gift affect nor influence my opinions of this audiobook and have left an honest review.
